Capital Link Project Highlights — Bank or Other Loans

Capital Link has successfully assisted 46 health centers and Primary Care Associations in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia in obtaining a total $97.6 million in bank or other loans (including conventional lenders, USDA, CDFIs and HUD).

The Daily Planet, Richmond, VA

Project Summary:
The Daily Planet received assistance from Capital Link in developing its business plan and application for the BPHC Loan Guarantee Program.  As a result of the assistance, Daily Planet obtained a loan for $575,000 from a commercial bank to purchase and renovate its new facility.

Community Health Development, Inc., Uvalde, TX

Project Summary:
Community Health Development had operated out of a hospital storage facility located on the east side of Uvalde, Texas, though most of the center patients live on the west side of Uvalde. The facility did not meet life and safety codes and services were limited due to facility space. Parking was severely limited as well.

To remedy the situation, Community Health Development constructed a new 18,300 square foot facility with 20 exam rooms on the west side of the city to replace original 4,000 square foot 6 exam room facility. Health center management hired new providers to address all stages of the life cycle and as a result are providing radiology and planning to add dental and mental health services.
