Supported by Blue Shield of California Foundation, this baseline analysis measures health center efforts to impact the non-clinical dimensions of the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH). Capital Link studied trends for SDOH interventions offered by health centers as reported to the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Uniform Data System (UDS) during 2015 and 2016 in order to establish the size and scope of the programs in California and nationwide.

This publication reviews the findings of a study, sponsored by Blue Shield of California Foundation and the California Health Care Foundation, which examined California clinic financial trends and the strengths and weaknesses in their overall performance. The purpose of the research was to better understand the financial health of the California clinic safety net as well as those critical factors that may positively influence the development of high performing health centers.

Supported by The California Endowment, this study was conducted by Capital Link to determine the capital plans and needs of California community clinics and assess the extent to which any funding gaps exist. The resulting data has been used to inform development of a capital financing program for health centers, in collaboration with a variety of statewide and national funders.
