Capital
Link has assisted many Community Health Centers and Primary Care Associations
(PCAs) in planning and obtaining financing for building and equipment
projects.
Since our inception, we have provided direct assistance for obtaining
financing for 90 health centers and PCAs. Below are a few highlights

In 2004, Capital Link actively provided assistance to more than 106
Community Health Centers in 36 states and
territories and 18 Primary Care Associations.
- To date, staff has closed transactions totaling over $215
million for 90 individual health centers and
Primary Care Associations (PCAs) through 138 separate
transactions for capital projects totaling nearly
$324 million (as of February 2006) including:

Grants -
$30.7 million for 38 health centers in Alaska, California,
Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire,
New York, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina and Texas

Bank
or other Loans - (including conventional lenders,
USDA, CDFIs and HUD) - $97.6 million for
46 health centers and PCAs in California, Connecticut, Florida,
Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New
York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina,
Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia

Forgivable
Loans - $11.4 million in forgivable loans for
4 health centers in Massachusetts

Tax-Exempt
Bond Financings - $68.9 million for
15 health centers and primary care associations in Illinois,
Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Washington

Equipment
Financing Loans - $3.1 million in equipment financing
loans for 5 health centers in Arizona, Massachusetts, Rhode
Island and Texas

Lines
of Credit - $3.3 million in lines of credit for 6 health
centers in Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts and New Hampshire

Established
award-winning tax-exempt bond financing program in Massachusetts
in 1994.
These transactions were
successfully completed with the assistance of Capital Link or Capital
Link's constituent founding organizations:
Community Health Center Capital
Fund, Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, Illinois
Primary Health Care Association, North Carolina Community Health
Center Association (formerly North Carolina Primary Health Care
Association) and Texas Association of Community Health Centers.
